In my experience it doesn't matter, so long as you don't move it too much or squish them while doing it. If you move it too much and don't have a "prison yard" they might get confused and just sit on the ground instead of going back inside.

Yeah I am thinking, move the tractor just before feeding and filling up the water each afternoon. They should be drawn in by the feed I would assume and this would establish the slightly new location every day.
