I'm willing to pay anyone with the ambition and willingness to create a fully optional site to my specific needs and wants, with the designers freedom to take some creative liberties just as long as they keep inthe important non negotiable areas im set on having, even if some of the ideas may require frequent updates to ensure that the items availability is upto date and if not in stock thedate of the last time the item sold is cataloged to create a history of the sales and the customer is aware of the items frequency in stock.

before you start sinking money into anything or getting a contractor you really should explore some things yourself just to understand what is out there. I would suggest focus on the simpler project. Wordpress platform offers enough of prebuilt solutions and you will be easily, with time, manage your own things with ease. Get hosting that is solid but newbie friendly etc. Go to themeforest.net and search for wordpress themes within your project scope, online store for example, and checkout the demos there and see what you like in terms of user interface etc. No matter what you should familiarize yourself with the interface and that sometimes takes time and frustration. I can offer some free help with visual branding. check out themeforest.net and start clicking there:)

You are talking about pre-baked platforms such as a squarespace. Its easy and convenient but you are under their terms of service, and they take a lot of your money, more than you think. I would rather do like ebay than that kind of ecommerce site. Look at Magento, its big but open source/free version and does everything you would want long term. Don't trust a foreigner to build you a site, they will either hack you or sell your credentials to someone that will. You can host Magento on most hosts. It's hard to learn it but you have a major platform under you. I had an ecommerce side business for 7 years, I sold across platforms, but my own site was Magento hosted. You need to get your own merchant account for credit cards, but its way cheaper. DO NOT allow shipping to a different address than the address on the c card, you will immediately get scammed.

Thanks man, yeah this is what I keep running into, these cookie cutter webpage builders which seem like they'd be ideal for someone with little to no interest in building a site themselves or someone who lacks the ability to learn how webpages are built or just refuse to learn. I personally enjoy website building, especially from scratch so you can build a site to your preferences. That's how the old angelfire worked, it appears like even angelfire has been Bought out and turned into another cookie cutter webpage builder where you need to pay some high-priced monthly fee to get a basic looking webpage built, and you have like website designers from overseas who will chat with you if you have questions. I rather teach myself frankly, unless I was to find a legit, semi local (fellow American) who is willing to build me a site to my specifications for a set, one time fee. Not some monthly subscription fee, im aware that for most domain names ill be paying a monthly or annual fee, and that im willing to do, but if im going to make a site i dont see how a monthly fee is logical, oncethe sites built the amount of upkeep or maintenance/changes being made woild be minimal and not justify a consitent price to keep a mid looking webpage running

Create a local copy of Magento and play with it. There are hundreds of skins like the ones the other platforms use, but u control the code.

Sounds like you're trying to build 2 separate apps/websites. You can go through the template sites like square space, wix or WordPress, but if you're looking for more, then you can hire (as you suggested) a software developer/designer. You can build a website, store it to GitHub and use netlify to host the website. If it's more complicated, you can use Linode or Digital Ocean to build your own hosting site. Heck you can use Appwrite to store your data on the cloud and netlify to host the website. If you have any questions or looking for advice, you can reach out to me. I have been developing software (websites/apps) for the last 15 years. I can point you in a direction or assist you in your projects.

Cool. We can tackle both at the same time or one after the other, whichever you choose.

I can build custom interactive experiences (like clickable charts, pop-ups, and linked deep-dive pages) while still using modern, secure platforms. You get the flexibility you’re looking for—without the pain of digging through raw code like the old days. I’d be happy to walk you through the best approach for both the interactive project and the online bookstore, and recommend platforms that support secure payments, scalability, and custom functionality. I can offer optimium pricing and efficent work. Also i have good ideas like using GHL to make the website better. Let me know if you’d like to set up a quick call to discuss this further. you can also contact me on Aaksands@gmail.com or whatsapp me at +923111115115
