Discord is a site for fluid back and forth conversation. Each server is customized to its members preferences. You can edit and remove posts. You can compartmentalize topics into specific rooms. It has additional socialization rooms such as voice lounge, video lounge and performance stage. For example, every Saturday we watch a documentary voted on by the group. Discord allows us to chat by text while we watch together. Soj.ooO does not have these features. I cannot speak for twitter/X, as my social media footprint is very small. Lastly, the server can be quite public, like Matt's or is private, small and just a collection of new found friends. Many of us are not on twitter. Easy to join. Easy to DM people or even call or video chat individual members.
