U.S. is going to hit the hyperinflation sooner or later, in a few decades, while ROK will be on her way to #1 Superpower.    USD will lose its value dramatically vs KRW before the implosion when it will become worthless.    KRW has remained more or less stable, compared to USD for the last 10 to 20 years.

If anything, KRW will most likely replace USD after the implosion, due to people's need for currency for efficient trade, especially time/distance wise; there are many retail Korean businesses in U.S. ( and former U.S.) that will accept KRW, especially after the implosion.  How many businesses in U.S. will accept any currency readily after the implosion?  Very few.

This means people will flock to Korean businesses, for efficient purchase of goods/services, especially Americans working for ROK businesses such as Hyundai, Samsung, LG, etc; they will pay the workers in KRW, and even will give them list of Korean businesses that will accept KRW.     When other Americans see one can purchase goods/services in Korean businesses, they will start accepting KRW from other Americans who have them, to sell them goods/services; this will spread.  
  
Even sacredcow offered no rebuttal to my answer above.  
  
ROK is planning to introduce KRW pegged stablecoin, at first for goods/services that are easily transportable, such as game, maybe @mirukitsune could chime in on this?  
  
Eventually, with more countries buying/selling goods/services, with ROK, they would gradually start using KRW pegged stablecoin, over USD. (ROK would offer incentives, by giving discount if they use KRW pegged stablecoin, instead of USD, this would offer substantial savings to countries, especially over big, and long term commitment projects.)  
  
Peru has already signed such a project with ROK.

Now, there are some internal debates within ROK about the optimal means of creating KRW pegged stablecoin; I think Dr. Seo is correct.  BOK is led by someone who had been 'mentored' by Lawrence Summer.

My financial strategy from now on, would be to have minimum expense I would need to survive for a year, in USD, and put the rest of KRW pegged stablecoin.   I might eventually invest in solid ROK businesses when I become more knowledgeable, and price is right.
