They remind me of Qing Dynasty (1644–1912) men were forced to adopt the "queue" hairstyle, which featured a shaved forehead and a long, single braid in the back. Imposed by the Manchu rulers, this style symbolized submission, with non-compliance viewed as treason punishable by death. The style evolved from the "money rat tail" to the more familiar "yin-yang" head.
