I mean, not being funny but I'm sure different departments had different ideas about what should happen. "They" are in the middle east for a reason. The people above are just mad cause they wanted resources devoted to their campaigns/war zones. Taiwan is next door to China and not worried about them. China knows it would lose and become a laughing stock of the world.

I am trying to imagine what the US Navy could do if China decided to blockade Taiwan?? How much damage has actually been done to the Navy? Logistics are screwed so short of nuclear.. what would we actually do right now? [Minister responds to blockade-induced energy apocalypse fears with vow](https://www.ocac.gov.tw/OCAC/Eng/Pages/Detail.aspx?nodeid=329&pid=80228810) - O.C.A.C (Taiwan) "According to the WSJ, a series of wargames run by the Washington-based Center for Strategic Studies showed that, if blockaded, Taiwan's liquefied natural gas (LNG) would run out "in under two weeks," while its coal reserves would be exhausted after seven weeks." There are more "what ifs" that might be hard to imagine because many don't see this as WW3.
