"so if you keep your mind too much on the shorter trends you can get wiped by the larger trends." You shouldn't really or need to if you're method is implementing proper money management rules and based solely on low time frame price action or indicators. It's rapid or unforseen fundamental data drops that usually cause chaos for short TF trading I'd say.

Well before I was in futures I didn't trade multiple times a day, I traded the larger trends. Came into the rally very late but still came out with about 35% profit margin. In the futures I am having a little bit of fun trying to see if I can make good money on the day trades, but I still am wanting to trade long term trend down to the 200 week moving average or below.
