No... no it's not. Because wherever you go in the world, there is currently, and always has been a way to exchange gold, for monetary value, whether that be goods or services.

That's not true, not everywhere accepted gold at all times; only after the invention and implementation of currency. And your gold better have the right damn face on it at certain periods of time or else it might be worthless.
