I think the powers that be are really mad at him. While evil for us, for *them*, they had something *good* going -- an all seeing eye. It was immense power, both to make moves before others but also, to have leverage on others using information^1^, and finally, to be able to understand people's **true** thoughts through the eavesdropping of the people's "private" conversations. They were playing God, and Snowden knocked these false idols down way more than a notch and gave back to the people some privacy^2^. For this, they must be mad, no? ^1 We, the people, learned that they do this, including with LOVEINT (spying on love interests) thanks to Edward Snowden. 2 With LLMs (what people are calling AI), the privacy advantage we gained for a few moments has taken a significant reduction as non-exact, loose pattern recognition and understanding on a mass surveillance scale is now possible.^

There is no Pompeo , or Barr this time. I recall Trump said it 2020 that he is strongly considering pardoning him. Memory hole I guess .
