How I calculated it (step-by-step)

Assumptions (you described “thick zinc coin, not too small not too big” → I assumed a coin roughly the size of a U.S. dollar coin but a bit thicker):

diameter = 26.5 mm (2.65 cm)

thickness = 3.0 mm (0.30 cm)

zinc density = 7.14 g/cm³ (standard)

1) Volume of the coin (cylinder):

radius = 26.5 mm ÷ 2 = 13.25 mm = 1.325 cm

cross-section area = π × 1.325² = π × 1.755625 ≈ 5.5150 cm²
