Firstly we live in an ontological universe, secondly the El or plural Elohim were just alien invaders, about a quarter million of them, they were viscous and people thought of them as gods, big mistake all religions are based on this falisy, it is Stockholm syndrome a captured audience believing in gods when they were just invaders, as this truth becomes more widespread religions of the book will die out, and new religions will replace them, there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth, eg The Church of the Universal Mind, people will awaken and realise they were duped. The Universe talks to us and that is often mistaken as "god" we move towards novelty as a purpose and all the religious strife will die off.
