A view of the Convent of San Francisco on the side of our downtown mountain, of course with the great Don Goyo in the background. The convent was built in the 1500's and this photo is a professional taken with a drone I believe. It is one of the reasons I decided to visit Atlixco the first time a few years ago. The second photo I took myself and is a view in our town square on a quiet day. The town square in Atlixco and other Mexican colonial towns is called the Zocalo and is the center of action. In our december Carnival and other times, it can be packed shoulder to shoulder with many thousands of people. The Zocalo never gets old to me. It's a spectacular little forest and garden bordered by bars and restaurants and street vendors. Super family friendly but great also if you want to go out for night life, also great in the day for lunch or just to take a stroll.
