That could be true. Likely sooner. But not for everyone and not everywhere. Do you plan to be gone before then?

Should be 50 ish by then, so I hope not. But my thoughts are we will at least end up with a solar EMP at the minimum. So I think retirement is a pipe dream

Your'e younger than me. That's exactly why I live in Mexico and am trying to put together a group to build a self sufficient community. Where I live an EMP would of course have an impact, but it wouldn't affect survivability hardly at all. Something probably will wipe out Modern lifestyles and most of the unprepared and it could comer any day now. And even if nothing major happens, most people in this society won't ever bve able to retire in comfort due to economic constraints. There are answers but the media and government want people desperate and scared. It's their specialty.
