You lived a real life. I do hope it lightened up after the time you're describing. This is closer to the life I want. Not about being alone and definitely no snow drifts, but I want to get into the dirt. I want to build my own self sufficiency and work on it and enjoy it for the rest of my life, with my own fully earned self respect complete. I do hope and plan to vacation some in addition to the simple things. Getting older helps us to understand what life is all about.

We had vacations. Left dad's farm to go work on another. Don't get me wrong. There was plenty of playing around. But, when it was work time it was work time and the weather doesn't care about you.
