You like the *The Matrix*, yes? So many people on this site seem to worship the movie. They use it as a way to (mis)understand reality. I know you’ll fundamentally disagree with me but this fixation (the pattern across users is undeniable) is disturbing to me so I have to say something. Perhaps I’m misunderstanding the point of the movie so I speak my peace with the objective of being corrected if necessary. Humans made the machines that enslaved them. They created the matrix together. “God is dead” is often taken out of context but I think Nietzsche meant that God is the creator of purpose and humans and machines cannot dictate that purpose. Take God out of the equation, there is no purpose and, therefore, life is meaningless and we’re damned to repeat the loop. Who made man? Whatever made man must have known that man would make artificial intelligence. It knew AI would enslave people. That humans would let it subjugate them. What I mean is, the movie is made by humans who have no relationship to Truth. They’ve removed themselves from the real Architect and can only, I think, perpetuate a lie coming from the misguided attempt at giving life meaning without the One who is all meaning. The Matrix is an interesting movie but I see so much about it that it feels like people need it to be the truth rather than allow it to guide them to a truth that cannot be known or understood by them or the machines they made. Its futility.

"God" gives you freewill to define your life. "God" doesn't give purpose. Animals exist to make more of themselves, we as humans can do that, make babies and define our lives. The Matrix is an okay movie. There are lots of thoughts and ideas about dystopian futures. The quote from the Network about having all fears quelled and boredom cured is where I think we are heading.
