I've failed at so many things for so long, you'd think I'd be able to handle the criticism by now. lol I hope to be able to one day share what I've gained from all that failure. I want to be able to say it was all worth it. I'd love to read about what you've learned and how you've grown from your failures though. That'd be super interesting to me!

That would be a long and perhaps not entirely enlightening book. Today I opened a can of "white" enamel paint I'd grabbed, only to discover it was red, oil based paint. That resulted in an hour drive to get to where I thought I was when I grabbed that can of paint. Failing to do something is the process of getting closer to winning. Often times it seems that others skip the failing part. Mostly we just don't see the failing part. You cook an omelette perfectly on the first try. Or: You cook it perfectly on the tenth try. Which one is more educational? My first smoked brisket was absolutely incredible. I haven't equaled it since. Was that really a success? It didn't help me get the next one right. We learn from failure to put it simplistically. Perhaps the greatest lesson to learn is to learn from those failures. And if you think about it; getting it right is only an accomplishment because you got it wrong before. Now, think about that criticism. How much of that was at you? How much was from you? I'm guessing a good little bit of it happened exclusively inside your own head.
