Just cutting wood for the winter. I do need to get off the grid a bit more. I am in a neighborhood in redneck ville. If/when I move it will be more off grid at that point. But my electricity and water bills aren't that much, my father built an Earth berm house. I have dirt on 3 sides of the house going up 6ft or so, think hobbit house but no dirt on the roof.

Yeah, stacking and drying, nice.... Off grid is the way, and set ups these days are thankfully fairly reasonable cost. Ah I see, so you'll be pretty well insulated as standard anyway that's handy., do you just use the fire for heat or do you have a plumbing set up also?
