The thing I most recently saw him in was "Conspiracy Theory" with Mel Gibson. Admittedly an old movie, but it had been long enough I didn't really feel like I knew what was coming next. I think the first time I saw him was in "Excalibur", back in the early 80's; though of course memories are definitely fallible, and perhaps that wasn't him. I've certainly enjoyed him as an actor, and I'd recommend Next Generation, though it certainly takes some getting used to. He'll be missed. But, I don't feel shorted by his passing. He had a good run. A very good run.
