You have an understandable feeling. The first election I ever voted in was for Ross Perot in 1992. It seemed like we are on the cusp of some big third party breakouts but it was downhill from there. I have mostly voted GOP with some other exceptions like Ron Paul. At the State level here in California it was straight CA GOP. The reason for that was because I am kinda "right wingy" but also because I have just watched the CA DNC accumulate more and more power and the only actual opposition party, as weak and feckless as it is, is the CA GOP. I would point out that back in 1992 I was in the National Guard and living in Long Beach. The Republican governor moved swiftly on the first day of the LA Riots and within a few hours I was at the armory..eventually running around Compton with a M16 and a few other places. Flash forward a few decades during BLMtifa and watching DNC Governors just let their cities burn. Politics sucks and is sleazy and usual just damage control. My dad had it worse. He was born in Berlin in 1928, German Dad and a Polish Mom. By 1945 he found himself smack dab at the center of a collapsing short lived Empire with like 3 other Empires trying to kill him. His dad did not survive the war.
