This doesn't seem to me like a very deep take from an ordinarily quite thoughtful person. The post isn't proposing that "the simulation" is crude software running on a pc. To me it's a bit as though you were comparing a thought experiment involving modern military weapons, up to and including thermonuclear and lasers with the technology available when the first 14th century "hand cannons" were in use. One could no more imagine modern technology then than we can imagine the speculative technology implied by "the simulation" narrative imaginings. Practically ALL of the electronic tech we live with was developed within our own lifetimes, some of it by people I personally know or knew. And from my perspective we're essentially in the infancy of something we don't even really have words for yet. Is AI probably the biggest bubble that's ever popped? Yeah. Probably. But, the previous bubble that popped resolved into the world we live in today. Where everything that was ludicrous is now just everyday life. Oh, how I remember "amazon". Oh how I laughed and laughed. They didn't care. Today, the failed tech bubble of yesteryear runs the world. As for Trump being a "dunce". I don't know. Argue with Victor Davis Hanson. I don't have any real feel for how smart Trump truly is. But, I have a damn good feel for how smart Hanson is.

It was more a knee jerk response to the Matrix....was not a fan of the idea. The Movie was entertaining for sure. The original. The idea of a Metaphysical Multiverse has its appeal....no doubts. And few would doubt that something akin to this exists. However, the idea does not extend to reality. We don't live in a simulation of any kind. My point should have been more explicit in its disdain for the glorification of technology as a savior. Something like that. However, there was more to the original post ....and the idea was huge....my take was really quite limited in scope. Here was a good part.... *Maybe the strangest feature of the simulation isn't that we forgot we were gods.* *It's that we apparently can't stop asking who wrote the software.* The premise is circuitous...as if by nature. Most any Uroboros pattern will show up in good Metaphysical to Physical construction. It doesn't make sense on the surface of it.....and yet intuitively it has merit. We were, are we gods? Who are we talking to when we talk to ourselves? Do we have gods to talk to? We don't need a simulation....we have our own body and mind to pay attention to. At any rate, my post above may have been a bit too harsh....thank you for calling it out. Peace.😇

The idea of "gods" playing as humans has a certain self aggrandizing feel to it that doubtless is alluring to some even as it generates an automatic revulsion in others. The more likely assumption it seems to me is indulgent, shiftless beings utilizing technology they couldn't possibly understand, just as we do ourselves. We tend to imagine ourselves the hyper-capable colossus of comprehension when in point of fact, not one of us could plausibly develop a supply chain for pencils, let alone semiconductors. Less than one out of a thousand even knows from direct experience how virtually anything technologically relates to anything else. We are not ants in an anthill to an alien species: We're ants in an anthill to our own species. Less than one out of a million of us actually knows how anything truly important relates to much of anything at all. We not only don't know how those things relate; we don't even know what those important things are. How many people are aware that the entire world's chip supply depends on the purity of a sand deposit here in the US? Almost no one. How many know that nitrogen fertilizer is dependent on natural gas? Again. Almost no one. How many people know that the world's supply of phosphate is essentially just a band of desert controlled by Morocco? How many people know that potash is mined practically everywhere except the US? NPK It feeds the world right now. It's more important than every other consideration combined. And that's factoring in that China by itself can actually destroy and is actively destroying international fish populations. We have a strong tendency to pay attention to what we're told to pay attention to. Most of which is irrelevant political theatre.
