We could not be gods at all but drones in the simulation, and the "god" controlling the simulation is only a god from our perspective. There's some neat content on simulation theory out there that I enjoy diving into from time to time. A channel called metaphysical has a pretty interesting video on simulation theory. The concept of reality being rendered is interesting to me, the whole two slit experiment where the observer effect changes the outcome of the particles being shot through slits in a wall, that consciousness changes the way it reacts is pretty mindblowing of a break through though its the only example I know of that people seem to go back to when trying to prove the simulation, which to me, youd expect there to be alot more examples of such instances of rendering if this reality was a simulation. Phillip k dick has a pretty neat take on predestiny and free will that I think youd like, but I got to get into work at the moment so ill have to post it later, too hard to sum up in a sentence, but basically its the many worlds theory, that God is all knowing and our paths are decided but our paths branch off into many different possibilities to choose from, each possibility changing our outcome, therefore the concept of free will is still possible as well as the idea that God is all knowing and knows every choice we are going to make even if those choices are infinite
