I suppose what you said should have been clear without explanation. Mea Culpa. Speaking from a biblical perspective: God "allows" 'God' to do as god does. Not clear? "God" is less a person than a force, an intent, a collective... much of the time. Whatever your own theology; and you're welcome to it with no additions from me, the "God" of the bible is the Greek "Theos"which could be translated as a sort of "Godness", otherwise referred to in some places as "demiurge". In the liturgical landscape of early Christianity the idea of strict monotheism is not really present. In strict monotheism there is only "God" and not, which even the slightest familiarity with the text should tell you is not the case. Whether it's remarkable individuals with some special affinity to God or angels, or even Satan/Lucifer, etc there is nonetheless a significant struggle, a contention for supremacy over... something, entirely unthinkable in a strictly monotheistic sense which does now and then reveal itself at least conceptually, such as when Saul is beset by evil spirits from 'The Lord'. In contrast we see in Abraham bargaining with God over the fate of the people of Sodom and the five kingdoms the idea that it is the people of his descendants who've gamed the system in primacy over "God" who is amendable to arguments and contentions beyond his singular judgement indicating that right is right, wrong is wrong, completely aside from His supposition. This is no small thing, and entire books have been written about the subject. And while I'm remiss to mention the multiplicity of potential arguments for one side or the other, it's not by accident; and I certainly hope not an artifact of ignorance. My previous response was intended to echo 'Paul' in Roman's 9, which indicates that "God" and God alone, regardless of obvious contradiction with apparent moral standards and logic "decides" a person to be 'sinful' or lacking in the right stuff. Speaking from a biblical point of view. In MY opinon. Again. It's not my purpose to take a side in this conflict, such as it is. Should I do so I'd bring out the silver bullets, stakes and mallets to put this contention into it's grave. People claiming "God loves the sinner...": Suits me. People claiming the bible supports their version of lunacy: Suits me. I'll expand on it as seems appropriate, if asked. But, I REALLY don't want to stomp on anyone's religion.
