It was clear that Osama was sick, kidneys and something else, maybe hashimoto's, so he could easily be made into a token sacrifice to be never seen again since he was dying already. I don't believe it was Osama that was stormed by the Seal team and there was an accident involved with that unit afterwards. Bush and Bin Laden families were business partners and they were the only ones able to fly out after 911. You probably heard that Osama was a CIA asset during the Afghan-Soviet war.
