I bought a 60 dollar harbor freight sawzaw, its actually pretty beefy. I also got some "root" blades, some of the better ones, cheap blades are useless. I love splitting wood and seeing the work done afterwards. But moving wood around and chopping it up is hard work for sure. A good pile of wood makes me smile and I have respect for someone who has one.

I've got next years wood all stacked (well, almost). I'm trying to save the black walnut for my smoker, but I'm getting the impression I've overdone it just a tad. It's amazing stove wood. Most of my stock is black locust, russian olive, some cottonwood and a bit of willow. I think I like the Russian olive best for the stove. Do NOT try using it in a smoker!
