There is [outrage in Israel over video](https://israelpalestinenews.org/israeli-soldiers-gang-rape-of-palestinian-exposes-rot-in-israeli-society/) of Israeli soldiers gang raping Palestinian prisoners. But the outrage is not about the the IDF gang rapes that have been going on for years. The outrage is that the video was leaked and the villain, at least to the Israelis, is not IDF rapists and those that cove these things up year after year. The villain  in Israel is Israel's top military [lawyer who was arrested](https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/nov/03/israels-top-military-lawyer-arrested-after-she-admitted-leaking-video-of-soldiers-abuse) for leaking the video while an IDF soldier became a media star.

"Police in Israel have arrested and detained the military’s top legal officer after she admitted leaking footage of soldiers allegedly attacking a Palestinian detainee and then in effect lying about her actions to Israel’s high court."

This could be about Israel's top military lawyer turned whistle blower Major General [Tomer - Yerushalimi who became the hunted animal](https://www.mako.co.il/news-israel/2025_q4/Article-2dfc7e48db54a91026.htm). In what they are calling a staged suicided attempt they found her after she left a farewell letter and apparently drove her car off of a cliff. She is held under psychiatric observation and will end up in prison.  
  
Over half the population [65% of Israeli Jews oppose criminal prosecution](https://mondoweiss.net/2024/08/65-of-israeli-jews-oppose-criminal-prosecution-for-soldiers-suspected-of-raping-palestinian-detainees/) for soldiers suspected of raping Palestinian detainees. Not all but most.  
  
"The survey asked the question:"

“Recently, the military prosecution requested to extend the arrest of the five soldiers suspected of gross abuse, and clarified that there is added evidence which strengthens the suspicion against them. In your opinion, if it turns out that there is basis for the suspicion against the suspects, in which way should they be handled?”

"Only 21% of Jewish Israelis answered that “they should stand criminal trial”; 14% of Jewish Israelis didn’t know."
