Coincidently, I just bought a Russian watch for my collection. A vintage Slava Medical with pulsometer. They were made in the USSR just after the Chernobyl incident, when they found out the hard way that quartz watches do not work when exposed to radiation.

Brilliant! My brother is a watch connoisseur---it's a pretty cool interest to have---and I know nothing about them. I'm thinking I should probably save up! Wowie zowie. Telling time is darn expensive. 😋 Hopefully, I can just use a sundial.
