The temple story is the one that connected the dots for me. Frustration with their behavior then, frustration now. People wonder how a group can "be like that" well all you have to do is look at how gypsies stay connected despite perpetual intentional poverty. Same thing here, they just hit paydirt with the Rothschilds and so the gang got legitimized.
