I dunno; I haven’t taken my meds. 😁 I think that psychiatrists say that they wanna fix something but they don’t care about why a thing is broken. They say that the reason people are depressed, for example, is because their brains don’t work right. Okay. Well, I’d need to know neuroscience first. I’d need to study the brain to figure out whether that assumption is true. The video goes into detail about how seratonin (or the lack thereof) is NOT linked to depression. Psychiatrists have been peddling that forever but it’s because of neuroscience that we know it’s not true. In other words, and I could be completely wrong, but psychiatrists are paid pharma shills and neuroscientists still approach the brain with the scientific method. They just want to figure it out. Psychiatrists, imo (I’ve met a couple “good” ones) don’t give a shit as long as they get a cozy corner office and a six figure salary. Neuroscientists are nerds and academics and don’t get paid shit. They do it for the love of the game. Finally, then, [cognitive psychology](https://www.apu.apus.edu/area-of-study/arts-and-humanities/resources/psychology-vs-psychiatry/) is how we apply the science in terms of behavior (internal versus external). Again, please, someone else step in and correct me.

So, to paraphrase/reinterpret to your mind, one uses misguided assumptions, while providing, likey harmful "solutions" While the other deal more in the matter of the experience, lived/felt. Is that fair? I'd say from my own limited knowledge of all the sides and practices I'd agree. I think it's highly likey the US has the issue on steroids though, simply to the nature of the market there.
