No worries about unintended assumptions....that word...**ass u me**....always good for a giggle or two....we are in good company....so to say.  ;)  
  
If I may, I would like to focus on your initial points....you are making very good points all round, and I agree with most of what you are writing, but there are some details required in order that we might agree even further...maybe?  
  
1 - "**Why would someone not be motivated by procreation and monogamy?"**

**2 - "What ideals are actually worthier than continuing one’s line, raising children, and passing on the torch to the next generation?"**

**1 -** Some may not have the ability to procreate...yes?     
Both men and woman...just one example of those not inspired by that pattern.  
Monogamy....or marriage....the laws today...do not make marriage a viable option for a 'qualified adult male'.   We could discuss the qualifications...your list is a good example of that.  If a man lived up to the standards in your list...that man would not marry under the laws of today.  
  
2 - What you are suggesting, in the general case, rings true.  
However, in the specifics, there are quite a few things worthier than what you are suggesting.  
For example:  
Curing cancer, ending homelessness and poverty.  
If one could live long enough to get past all the stupidity of the world, one might grow wise enough to embody the patterns that could lead to a much healthier existence for all.  
This has yet to be achieved....so these ideals are still out there...potential.  
That is a motivating factor for the type of outlier personalities that may exist with the potential to share these patterns with others...or not...just an observation.

This statement above, is a good place for us to examine our potential as humans.  
The *otherwise* part....especially the *wise* part.   
What if now...at this time in history...we found a new pattern?  Literally new.  
Like a form of elevated energy sharing....all kinds of mystics in the past, Jesus et all....have produced patterns that mystified the general populace.    
What if these patterns had an underlying source?   
And here we are.  
Hope this is enough for now....and thank you for your patience and understanding....heady stuff for sure.
