Something I should've mentioned is that the fear mongering about meat can be derived from people's excess consumption of it. Throughout human history, in this meme being the 14th century is that they only ate meat every so often, it was a delicacy for the peasant class. Today? Folk eat meat for breakfast, lunch and dinner which combined with the lack of physical exercise can lead to some nasty consequences.
