really soft bodied nematodes may indeed be effected by it but they would also be effected by salt or just certain oils like the ones I listed above. Like I said, there are better much better alternatives to the problems DE solves, that don't cause all the problems DE causes.

You also have to consider how quickly DE absorbs humidity and loses pretty much all of its effectiveness.

It regains its effectiveness when it dries back out though. Does your solution? All nematodes are soft bodied. https://justagriculture.in/files/newsletter/2021/september/52.%20Unique%20facts%20about%20the%20nematodes.pdf How long does your alcohol solution last when it's raining? How long does it last without having to re-apply? What specific nematodes are you targeting? What situation specifically are you dealing with, indoors, outdoors etc? The vast majority of nematodes are soft bodied invertebrate worms. I don't understand why You are so combative on every single topic. But to each their own, was just trying to interject with a suggestion and compliment your thread. Nematodes live in the moist undersoil, not top soil. Alcohol Sinks below water. Raising the level of the nematodes to the surface. also many nematodes upon interaction with alcohol produce larvae which then feed on alcohol as an energy source. https://www.fau.eu/2020/09/news/research/alcohol-prolongs-lifespan-of-nematodes/ Don't spray the diatomaceous earth in your mouth, it's pretty easy to avoid tbh, Wear a mask if you are scared. I actually recommend spray the diatomaceous earth with water, or applying it on a rainy day. Prevents any inhalation.

If your environment is getting dry enough to dry out DE to effectiveness, your environment is probably not pest-filled. The alcohol solution is a spray-contact solution that is a disinfectant and biocide. You would not use it outside on the yard, a different formula is required for that purpose. The 70% alcohol in its own is a biocide and nematodes would not be feasting on it. In the study linked to the article you posted (you couldn't even read the study, you just post articles of studies??) they don't even reach 1% ethanol. The oils make the ethanol solution a more effective nemacide by bringing its kill time of the most hardy nematodes from 10 minutes to only 1 minute. Also, you're not going to be worried about soft bodies nematodes living in the undersoil when you're using a disinfectant. Soft-bodied nematodes living in the undersoil aren't trying to infect you. If you're so resolute, keep throwing silicon all over your yard. I will hard pass.
