I've been reading about Korean [imugi](https://www.kci.go.kr/kciportal/ci/sereArticleSearch/ciSereArtiView.kci?sereArticleSearchBean.artiId=ART003079265&utm_source=chatgpt.com) lately. Why, in Korean folklore, must some dragons first learn how to become dragons? Because in Korean folklore, being powerful is not necessarily the same as being worthy of power. The imugi (이무기) is a fascinating creature: a great serpent or dragonlike being that has not yet achieved the status of a true dragon. In different versions of the folklore, its transformation may require centuries of waiting, acquiring a magical pearl (yeouiju), or receiving a heavenly opportunity. And now, if you'll excuse me, I have a folklore post to make. lol 😆🤗
