Do you know how? Step one - choose wisely where you build. Know your soil. Is it soil you can build on, or will a sink hole form during construction? Is your soil arable. Arable means able to support growing food. Step two - the foundation. choose your foundation and develop it well, nice and strong. Basement, crawl space or slab ? In order to choose which one, you must know your water table depth. It is unwise to try to build a basement foundation if your water table is at 40 feet (like mine). My foundation for the house on my farm is crawl space, which I will encapsulate. Why do I encapsulate the crawl? to help regulate humidity, prevent wood fungus formation, to prevent critters from living there and leaving poop all over the place that could spread disease. If you don't have a strong foundation your house will blow away in a typhoon. Step three - "rough ins" aka infrastructure. plumbing, electricity. Remember, you have to rough in your home's infrastructure before you pour the concrete, unless you like digging up concrete. Step four - this runs concurrent with step 1 actually. House plans - what type of castle do you want? Materials list and budget. Draw up the house plans, make sure the plans are sound and the rough doesn't fall in on you at night. Step five - build it. Have you ever done any roofing work? You should. What type of roofing materials work best in Malaysia ? For me, I could use metal, but I prefer shingles. Good luck, King Miru!!!
