You can understand the doctrines of the books such as Jihad can only be initiated against aggressors, but despite this Muslims can and will misinterpret this to mean any state that isn't governed by Islamic Law. A Muslim can't be in Ireland and get angry people blaspheme Muhammad but they do.

God does not love aggressors. #Quran chp 2 ver 190 You may fight in the cause of GOD against those who attack you, but do not aggress. GOD does not love the aggressors.

You will find Jews who misinterpret the Torah. You will find Christians who misinterpret the Bible. You will find Muslims who misinterpret the Quran. They all have same Deceiver (Satan/Devil).
