They call it backwardation in the world of trading. The price of real barrels vs paper barrels of oil is much higher. The futures (paper) represent a promise to deliver to a specific place at a specific time.  All this shows is that there's a massive shortage of oil real world real time right now. The usually Friday announcements by Trump only effect the paper promises.
