Yeah it is just light, and the main reason why I think FTL is possible because any causality breaking artifacts don't actually break causality as they are just light, the event has to always occur first before any information can be sent at any speed. E.g. say we are looking at a point in space 1000 light years away and the point happens to explode, we would not see the explosion, people in 1000 years time would, and with the same logic if someone or something could travel faster than light from that same point 1000 light years away they would still have to see the explosion before having knowledge of it, and if that person where able to FTL to us it would look from our perspective that this person has given us information of something that hasn't happened yet, when in reality that event has happened, just light/the information of it hasn't got to us.
