Yes, if COVID didn't happen, then folks would not have been used to this, and there would be uprisings. But now everyone showed they tolerated being home, and you can have stuff delivered to your door, why do you need to leave your house? You can work from home and meet up using Zoom, discord, Teams ect. Slow frog boil...
