I've heard many times throughout my life "Those that cannot do, teach." Does anyone else feel like modern educators really can't do anything but parrot a book.

I have a few young teacher friends who basically like their jobs, but have said that they want to teach kids some things not in the rigid, lacking curriculum (sometimes they sneak things in), but are honest that it is basically a grossly underpaid daycare situation for the most part. These are both young elementary students teachers.
