The term you're thinking of is Panopticon, by the way. I think if one were to go to a dark sky observatory with a digitally aimed telescope and the prerequisite math skills, it would be possible to prove their altitude. Also probably a rough estimation of how many objects there are. So, I remain convinced they do exist. Stuff *is* perpetually in free fall in LEO. I would be really curious what **extra technology** is being deployed on these satellites though. Flying cameras with tx/rx flying by miles above you? You can't convince me there isn't some sneaky shit being added because what you can't see, you can't criticize.

You may be right, and almost surely if there really is a sky full of them. I'm not even close to convinced. I have sat in the middle of the desert in Arizona where you can see everything and watched the sky all night many times. Nothing. I watch the sky at sunset when the angle would reflect if there were something there. I'm not saying there are zero, and I'm not saying difinitively there is nothing in orbit. But I think there is not a sky full of satellites like they claim. Why would they exaggerate? How does that help? I'm sure there are high altitude planes that can probably go 100,000 ft, which is not too much different than being in orbit. I know they do the high altitude balloons. Still only questions without answer for me.
