None of this is justified still though.... it's entrapment or enslavement of a child... Yes, Islam does allow marriage at an early age and allows consummation earliest at puberty. Menstruation typically begins around age 12, but can start as early as 8 or as late as 15. Bleeding earlier than the typical earliest age of Menstruation is treated as blood of illness or abnormal and not treated as periods. Let's add some nuance; Marriage at such a young age needs approval by the parents and the Imam can decide whether or not he approves to conduct this marriage contract. If he does conduct this marriage contract it is not as strong as a marriage conducted by an adult and has greater grounds to be suspended or annulled later on.
