I lived in Nevada and LOVED IT. Like 85% of the state is Federal or state land, and open for recreation. If you like off-roading, shooting guns, exploring old mines and the desert, you will literally never be bored there. Water... is a nightmare. It's thousands of feet above sea level and the ground is HARD AF. Drilling a well can quickly become an Herculean battle. The depth varies a lot, most of the state you're looking at 300-600 feet to hit water, but it's not uncommon to require drilling 1,000 feet deep to hit the water table. And that's through hard desert ground. Costs are typically $40-$60 / foot, so that could easily become $40,000-$60,000 to hit water... On the other hand, there are tons of water restrictions and it's only going to get worse as they divert water to data centers. And there's nowhere near enough to rain to worth catching.
