I had already told you that no country is more OTNI than ROK; Lee wants to optimize the probability of eventual peaceful unification of Koreas; there are two politicians who could play the parts of mediator better than anyone else, Putin, and Trump.   They both have connections with DPRK; they both have common interest in containing China, not just PRC, but any China in the future.     
  
Already, in ROK military channels, they have given up the idea of denuclearizing DPRK, but instead they want to nuclearize ROK.  On this topic of ROK going nuclear, majority of ROK electorate agree upon, regardless of political spectrum, other than diehard peaceniks.  
  
Now, this does not necessarily mean they are not interested in peaceful unification; one of ROK grand strategy is to buy time, long enough for DPRK to implode, on its own, then, ROK could seize NK, before China, any China, not just PRC intervenes to annex NK.      The other grand strategy is to accept DPRK in a federation form; let DPRK run its own political/economic/military system, but its economic system integrated with ROK, so that DPRK would not have an incentive to create instability.   One such idea was the oil/gas pipeline from Russia, through DPRK to ROK, and eventually to Japan.   It was plausible at the time, but now I doubt Trump would support it.   
  
Another such idea would be hyper tube trade route through DPRK to Russia, to EU, I think this is one idea ROK is exploring, as shown in the promo video by ROK railroad agency; it's shown near the end of the video.

Fortunately, that scumbag Yoon is so thoroughly discredited, no one will seriously advocate his foreign policy in general, regarding DPRK/Russia.   Btw.  Even that scumbag was not against Palestine/Iran.   In ROK today, no one is serious about siding with Usrael against Palestine/Iran.   ROK is being optimal regarding winning EU from Usrael, in weapons, not necessarily against Russia, but OTNI.     
  
ROK wants to exploit Trump in winning EU in weapons procurement, and exploit MAGA/Trump in building the economy of scale in EV/Auto/Steel, in U.S. (Elon providing unexpected help, by picking fights with Trump) to gain advantage over EU auto companies, with the economy of scale in U.S. and exploit EU in building the economy of scale in EV/Auto/Steel/Hydrogen, in EU, so that with the economy of scale in both U.S./EU, in countering China in the rest of the world.  
  
ROK wants to exploit Trump/U.S. adventurism, in winning the rest of the world, especially ME/Africa in weapons procurement as well; this will not only make a lot of money for ROK, but also will build political support for ROK from the rest of the world when ROK finally bids for superpower status.

Of course, in the very long run, ROK's investment in U.S. will gain good will from both public and politicians in U.S. and this will matter even more when U.S. implodes; for the surviving states of former U.S. ROK will be the lifeline to the rest of the world; USD neither will exist nor accepted, then the strongest hard currency the surviving states of former U.S. will be ROK's.   ROK also will be the greatest counter/hope for the patriots in former U.S. against the Zionist flunkies, sure to be backed by IDF/Mossad.

....it's because Koreans are wise the ways of Chinese; they love to pretend they are someone they are not.     For example, the availability rate of PLAAF fighter jets are only about 10%, USAF/USN/USMC availability rates are about 25%; yes, they are both bad, but still U.S. is way higher than PLAAF.   Europeans are not much better, again, only about 10%.  
  
In contrast, ROKAAF is about 90% for FA-50; they are aiming for at least 80% for KF-21.    Now, why is the availability rates are so important?  
  
The number of fighter jets do not determine the true strength of AF; they are merely potential true effective strength.    Given everything else equal, higher availability rate means higher percentage of the number of the fighter jets would be available in actual mission in real time, on demand, 24/7, 365.    US military has about 3 times the availability rate of Chinese military, this means, given everything else equal, U.S. military has about 3 times more planes available for mission 24/7, 365 than Chinese military, this means Chinese would need 3 times more total planes just to equal the true effective air cover of U.S. military.  
  
Currently, China has about 1,500; U.S. has about 3,400; on average, U.S. fighter jets are far more effective than Chinese jets, U.S. pilots are also far more effective than Chinese pilots, not because of American exceptionalism, but because they have better training equipment, more training time than Chinese.  
  
So, here the true effective strength of Chinese fighter jets are only about 150, while U.S. fighter jet strength is more than 1,000, even given everything else equal.    Now, there are limits how many jets U.S. can send to far east for war with China, USN/USMC, about 1400, about 420 would be available 24/7, China still 150, given everything else equal.  China simply neither has the numbers nor quality, both hardware, and pilots to match U.S. even in their own backyard.    Their hypersonic cruise missiles don't have the range to reach U.S. fleet, provided U.S. fleet stays far away enough from the mainland.   U.S. fleet can defend from the conventional ballistic missiles.  
  
U.S. ballistic missiles can annihilate their ghost cities, causing little human lives, but causing immense financial damage to both the rich, and the middle class, who invested their life savings on ghost cities, with their economic useless buildings.   If they go up in smoke, the rich will get the bailout, the middle class will demand the same, either they get it or don't; if they don't they will lose all incentive to support the government, the poor either don't care already, or will be enraged, when they have to support the rich and middle class, and they get sent to die as cannon fodders; they will revolt.  
  
China is a paper tiger compared to U.S.   U.S. has a serious problem; I know that, U.S. will implode in the next few decades, but China has even bigger problem, and will implode before U.S.
