I was in Iraq in 2004, working with KBR contractors in the Iraqi Freedom campaign against Saddam Hussein. The history books say this is the cradle of civilization. The scripture says this is where GOD created Adam and Eve. And it was near Iraq, I suppose, where the Messiah was born. I drove in convoys from the American forces encamped in Balad to other camps north --Fallujah, and Tikrik. Up until the time of the "uprising" when a fuel convoy was hit, and contractors died, I was a participant. The operations were shut down at that time. I had no idea what I was doing. Information about these actions against us was withheld. Nobody knew about the locations where people were being beheaded. I learned a lot about life in Iraq. The odor I smelled in Iraq was not Lake Michigan, but a sewage treatment plant. I never knew what that smell was, living next to the lake in Kenosha! I was wrong. How about Civil War? I did not know military forces could exacerbate the existing animosities between religious peoples, Sunni and Shiite in this region, to slaughter one another. I am against that. I guess CIA/State Dept/Mafia have to work for a living, too. Too bad George Bush and the filthy English during America's fight for freedom in 1776 weren't against this as well. I felt someone breathing down my neck in Iraq. Only later, when I back in Asheville living in my Ford Lincoln Mark IV, did I learn it was Abu Musab al-Zarqawi who was cutting off people's heads. I got a bad fever on the road one day, probably from the anthrax shots, working as a car hauler. When I got to my trailer sometime later, I was working under the sink with a flashlight, and I saw something that shook me down. The light from the flashlight cut through the darkness under there and I saw something. I don't know what it was. It was something about the light, and I suppose GOD. It was about Iraq.

What? You had a flashlight and saw god under a sink? Your god put Adam and Even in Iraq? The Mediterranean was the cradle of civilization, Iraq is on the outside of those boundaries. Yeah some of the oldest peoples on the planet live there, you would think they would be doing better than they are. But that is a good story above you wrote. It made very little sense.
