Seedless is not the same across all plants. In watermelon, seedless usually means a triploid plant that produces fruit but not viable seed, so the grower depends on someone else for seed stock. Cannabis is different. “Seedless” cannabis, or sensimilla, is not usually some sterile plant engineered to remove farmer control. It is mostly produced by keeping female plants away from male pollen. That takes grower effort, selection, timing, and control of the crop. The farmer is actively preventing pollination to improve the flower. With cannabis, seedless is more of a cultivation method than a locked biological system. The power question is not just “seedless or seeded.” It is whether the grower can reproduce, select, clone, breed, and maintain control over the plant line.
