Society is now recursive because we are disincentivized to try new tactics due to algorithmic optimization. all the other tactics are effectively known… even if a less effective tactic might yield a slightly different set of results that might be useful. It is the difference between reading a book to find an answer and googling it. thinking and learning is a muscle, you have to train your brain to do it and we have been trained out of it. kind of like how Hollywood has been unable to tell a good story for decades. Taking risks is a muscle. You learn what you can get away with.
