I think both are highly quality thinkers who have accurately articulated aspects of human condition. In this context I was referring to something more similar to Jung's concept of the shadow. There is no physical restraint on the ego here and the lack of human feedback in discourse means you're also likely to project your shadow onto others. You notice this if someone argues with you online, they're not addressing your point - often they're arguing with their own shadow which they projected on to you.
