This wasn't simply a stray bomb landing beside a school. Two precision-guided Tomahawk missiles struck the school and its grounds. Bloomberg identified it as the deadliest American military targeting error of the 21st century in terms of children killed. And you don't get to use the fog of war or split-second decision excuse when you're initiating a planned attack with cruise missiles. Targets are selected, coordinates established and missiles programmed before launch. This wasn't someone making a desperate decision under enemy fire. There was time to verify the target. 123 dead children. Comparing that to civilian casualties in other wars doesn't make it any less horrific or excuse refusing to account for what happened. The question is how an elementary school was selected for a precision-guided missile strike, and who is being held accountable.
