Any church with a 501(c)(3) status should be required have their financial records publicly available online or by request. But I'm sure they'd just falsify them. Most churches these days (the bigger ones, at least) are basically for-profit businesses and should be taxed just like any other for-profit business.

Which is why they should be taxed... If they can use the money they obtain from their congregation to lobby for politicians, then they should be able to be taxed.
