Many of your ideas are great, just possibly unrealistic.  I think that decisions should be made by even more local communities than states, maybe counties... maybe smaller.  I think just like corporations that are too big, governments that are too big lack genuine accountability.  Yet my idea seems far more unlikely than yours and I hardly think yours is likely.  The system, the machine, whatever we want to call it... is so big and it will do anything to preserve itself.  It is the maker and enforcer of laws no matter how ridiculous the law and how unfair the enforcement.  It will not vote to demolish itself.  It will not slink away into the abyss from which it came.  I agree that education should be free (but as you said, it's not free, we all pay for it) but even John D Rockefeller who funded and promoted this "free education" back in the day said, "I don't want a nation of thinkers, I want a nation of workers."  They convinced us to fund our own indoctrination.  There will always be psychopaths who take advantage of a system of hierarchies.  If there is power to be had, the ones who desire it will figure out how to manipulate the system and will ruthlessly crush all the do-gooders until all that is left at the top are soulless husks.  I don't want to rain on your parade, your parade sounds very nice and I'd like to enjoy it but I can't help but see the stark reality of our predicament.  We did let this happen.  Bit by bit and year by year we allowed ourselves to trust too much, question too little, and become distracted by bread and circuses.  Shame on us.  We were naive and just accepted the system we were born into even though we could see that it doesn't work.  Now people are blaming Capitalism because we are told that is the root of the problem.  So the young people want Socialism which has been responsible for well over 100 million deaths and a lower quality of life for millions more.  They say that we just didn't do it right.  Well, we didn't do Capitalism right either.  It brought people more wealth and a higher quality of life than any other system until it became crony Capitalism and the same psychopaths who brought us Socialism figured out how to co-opt this new system and viola.. here we are.  Corruption and evil will ruin any system.  If there were no power hungry greedy anti human psychopaths then any system would work fairly well overall.  I don't know how bad it has to get before people just say NO.  If we all stopped complying with this crap, if even half of us stopped complying... it would be over in a moment.  Good people shouldn't follow bad laws and no one's excuse should be "I was just following orders".  But we don't want to be the first one, or the only one.  We go along to get along and in the end we are building the infrastructure that will imprison us and we are funding our own enslavement.  They keep dividing us into smaller and smaller groups so that we will never agree to unite against the biggest threat to us all.  It's actually brilliant and I am sad, ashamed, and angry about how well their plans have worked thus far.  Despite them using every effort to make us weak, unhealthy, anxiety ridden, lonely, depressed, morally bankrupt, poor, and confused... I hope we can still muster the strength to say no when it is needed the most.  We didn't in 2020 and it was the biggest mistake humanity has ever made.
