Nothing is really bound by time or space, observed distance between points of energy is what gives rise to time and space, I cannot speak directly of psychoactive experiences I have only ever smoked weed and that as never hit me like I was promised in media, but from how they are described and using my imagination it sounds as if you are describing quantum reality, which I do not need a trip for to know exists yet I cannot directly interact with/experience it. The only thing that really binds you to reality is your senses, I assume that it is the altering of the senses which allows you to become more attune with the quantum world, as sentience is very quantum in nature.
